A Rundown of Our Long Saturday...

Beatrice woke up on the wrong side of the crib. She was teething, actually- fever and all. There was no morning nap. So I had the brilliant idea to take her to the zoo! She was a lot better out of the house because she was distracted from her discomfort. James had taken her to the zoo a few months ago, but she just wasn't big enough to really enjoy it. This time, she had a lot of fun!

Oh, she was captivated by the elephants! She'd only seen them in books and had no idea of their real life size!

After the zoo, we went to Jason's Deli for lunch. My brother Cooper works there and we got to see him. He's always so busy with school, work and practicing organ these days that no one ever really gets to see him.

Beatrice actually took a good afternoon nap.

While she slept, James and I worked on current projects. It's really neat to me that right now our projects sort of overlap for once. We are both making books. Very different sorts of books, but still.

Cooper stopped by while Bea was asleep. We didn't tell her because she would be very sad to have missed him!

Oh, but she woke up from her nap on the wrong side of the crib again. Ugh! We could think of nothing other than just taking her to the mall to walk around and see all the people. It wasn't the most fun thing in the world, but it did distract her from her discomfort and it was free. Life will be so much better when this little girl finally has all of her teeth!!! (But then her brother will start getting his.)

We finally got her in bed for the night and didn't even know what to do with ourselves!
